Welcome to Jojoba Yoga!
Ditch the Down Dog!!
There is so much more to yoga than downward facing dog! Here at Jojoba Yoga we are passionate about Yoga and the positive effect it can have on your life. The practice is ancient and all consuming, there are thousands of poses to choose from & we bring many of these poses to our classes, with a few down dogs thrown in for good measure!
We run fun, informal classes which combine traditional & modern yoga, functional sport yoga, energetic flows & meditation and mindfulness techniques to get you fit & zen in one go! The classes ensure you get some strength work, a good stretch out and some deep relaxation, along with a strong focus on breath to cleanse, heal & energise. We also run Workshops to focus on specific areas of yoga practice & to give you a taster of various forms of yoga including traditional Hatha Yoga, Sport Yoga and Yoga Nidra meditation practices.
Through the weekly classes, Workshops and private yoga sessions, we hope to develop your understanding and practice of yoga in a fun way, providing space to connect with the body in a safe, nurturing environment, assisting health, fitness, recovery and healing.
We hope to welcome you to the Jojoba Yoga Studio soon!

Meet Team Jojoba
Jo Cowper – Yoga Instructor / Founder Jojoba Yoga
Jo’s mum first brought her to her first yoga class in her teens and she describes it as ‘coming home’. She went on to study Movement & Dance at university and became a qualified teacher in Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Kids Yogabugs, Yoga Therapy and Sport Yoga and is continually updating her knowledge to inform her practice & classes. She has been practising yoga for over 25 years and has been teaching & passing on her love of Yoga since 2010.
Jo has a background in therapeutic massage and sport, including working on the London 2012 Olympics. Jo is interested in the healing power of yoga. Having used yoga to recover from past injury and from pregnancy (twice!) she trained in Yoga for Sport and now works with athletes and offers Sport Yoga sessions to assist injury prevention and recovery.
All Jo’s yoga classes are fun & informal, encouraging students to challenge themselves in a safe & effective way. Jo is also keen to introduce all ages to yoga, creating classes for kids, parents & grandparents to enjoy together based on the fun YogaBugs teaching method used in the Waybuloo TV series.
Jo promotes the use of Yoga for helping Anxiety & Body Image Disorders. She has contributed to articles in the Australian Yoga Journal & the book ‘Reflections on Body Dysmorphic Disorder’ published by the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Foundation
If you want to connect with Jo on social media she has an aversion to Facebook but an unhealthy obsession with Instagram yoga challenges, you can find her there attempting various crazy poses and getting inspiration for her classes!
