Many yoga instructors will use the chakras, the 7 main energy centres running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, as a focus for classes. The chakras are a crucial part of yoga and central to the “science” of yoga and its healing of the body, mind and spirit.

My own Chakra Yoga method has been created to place the chakras as the focus of the practice and to create a series of sessions combining my knowledge and experience of mainly Hatha Yoga, Sport Yoga and Yoga Therapy, to create a unique system of inner healing, release of emotional and physical blocks, leading to greater energy and transformation.

The sessions include breathwork, visualisation, relaxation, posture work, flow sequences and yoga nidra, deep sleep and meditation to bring about a sense of mind-body connection and inner peace. Mind and body work so closely together that one cannot relax if the other is stimulated; therefore Chakra Yoga provides ways to address both and create release of agitation and over-stimulation to bring about a state of deep, inner calm and contentment.
